Project Overview

The complex, with a gross floor area of approximately 2,660 m², was originally built between 1988 and 1990. It has undergone a complete transformation, introducing shared spaces to serve the newly designated public-access areas.

The section designated for the Carabinieri station was functionally separated from the rest of the building to ensure full operational autonomy. The new internal layout was developed following a detailed analysis of circulation flows and spatial dynamics, aimed at optimizing the integration of new functions within the structure.

The ground floor was reconfigured to accommodate the Red Cross outpost, the CAF (Tax Assistance Center), the AVIS headquarters, and the new Carabinieri station. From a structural standpoint, the building features a mixed system: the floor slabs, central columns, and first-level perimeter walls are made of reinforced concrete; the perimeter walls of the upper levels are built with Poroton masonry; and the roof structure and top-level columns are constructed using laminated timber. Seismic retrofitting measures were implemented to enhance the structural resilience of the entire complex.
