Project Overview

The intervention involves the demolition of the existing building to give a new identity to the Guardia di Finanza Barracks, through the development of the Preliminary Design and the final design focused on seismic retrofitting, while preserving the original building volume.

The new structure will consist of a single building with three above-ground floors and one basement level, served by a single staircase core. Its footprint is an elongated irregular pentagon, oriented North-South and positioned centrally within the plot. The design concept outlined in the Preliminary Design includes service offices on the ground and first floors, with the ground floor being more accessible and open to the public.

The project must comply with the provisions of the Interministerial Decree on energy efficiency in buildings dated 26/06/2015, and therefore will incorporate appropriate technologies and energy-saving measures aimed at improving the building’s energy performance.
