Project Overview

The existing school building that houses the Liceo Artistico “Niccolò Barabino” was constructed between 1958 and 1968. Its structural framework consists of reinforced concrete vertical and horizontal elements, with brick masonry infill panels serving as non-load-bearing enclosures.
A series of structural interventions have been proposed with the aim of achieving seismic upgrading and overall structural safety, including: strengthening of slender columns and beams through the application of CAM technology; shear and flexural strengthening of the roof beams of the main assembly hall; enhancement of the load-bearing capacity of the floor slabs; consolidation of roof beams and unconfined beam-column joints.
